From the story to performance PIPTHEATRE works with city parents and children to create new stage adaptations of well-loved stories. With groups of 12-15 parents and children (aged 6-10) PIPTHEATREapplies the same techniques as PIP professional productions. Invigorating warm-ups, imaginative exercises and lots of collaboration are all part of the process.
Activities that involve parents and children together are few and far between and in busy city lives finding quality time is not easy. PIPTHEATREis the ideal weekly activity that allows parents and children to work and learn and to achieve a creative project together. Theatre, from text to performance, challenges, encourages self-confidence and teaches participants to move, breath, express themselves and develop their personality with assurance and clarity.
“I think anyone can enjoy being on stage even if it seems a fearsome challenge - in the rehearsal room nothing is impossible and nothing is ever a mistake. Each project is sure to leave unforgettable family memories. In our busy lives a few very strong, unforgettable experiences matter as much as all the time in the world for parents and children.” - Henriette Baker, Course Coordinator
PIPTHEATREis the only theatre group for parents and children devoted to adapting much-loved storybooks, creating a voyage from the printed page to acting it out on stage with an audience.
"Working for PIPPRODUCTIONS is a collaboration between director, actors and musicians in which the perceptions of each participant are incorporated into the whole. As a consequence, PIPPRODUCTIONS, under the sensitive and imaginative direction of Henriette Baker, is a forum as much for personal development as it is for the evolution of theatrical possibilities." – Isabel Hollis, Company Member
